Diabetic Foot Workshop and Electrical Stimulation in Wound Healing Workshop

The University of Western Ontario is hosting two interesting wound related courses that may be of interest to the OntWIG membership.  A Diabetic Foot Workshop and a workshop focusing on the application of Electrical Stimulation to stimulate wound healing.   Please see the attached flyers.

Webinar to launch the “Framework for an Ontario Wound Care Strategy – Fewer Wounds, Faster Healing”

Progress on the Provincial Strategy for Wound Care - We were pleased with the enthusiastic support at the symposium held in October 2012. OntWIG hired a consultant to prepare the report of this meeting which served as the basis for the development of the wound care strategy.

New President of OntWIG 2012-2014

Please join me in welcoming Karen Laforet as our new President of the Ontario Woundcare Interest Group for a two year term. As I transition from President to Past President, I cannot think of a more suitable candidate to fill this position.

Karen Laforet has functioned as a clinical resource in vascular access, critical care and wound care, as well as product specialist and marketing manager.  Currently she is the Director Clinical Services for Calea Homecare located in Mississauga, Ontario.  

Report of Proceedings - 3rd Annual Symposium October 2011

 The 2011 Symposium drew representation from a diverse group of stakeholders from the acute, long term care and community sectors. Notwithstanding a line-up of outstanding speakers, the most powerful part of the day occurred during the more informal parts of the agenda.
